Smithsness
Smithsness is an enchantment from gear and consumables crafted from lumps of Brituminous coal and handfuls of Smithereens. Those materials are obtained with the skill Summon Smithsness, from the December 2013 Mr. Store item The Smith's Tome. By itself, Smithsness does nothing, but various items crafted from lumps of Brituminous coal can convert Smithsness into useful enchantments.

Notes
- The maximum currently available Smithsness is:
- 80 for most people
- +5 if you are an Accordion Thief with Accordion Appreciation
- +5 if you have a Disembodied Hand to wield an extra generic weapon
- +5 if you have a defective Game Grid token for Video... Games?
- This includes 25 (or 30 or 35) points from equipment, 25 points from a potion, 30 points from food/booze/spleen effects, and 5 points from a reusable item.
- The Disembodied Hand can't equip accordions, so equipping it with a Sheila Take a Crossbow or Work is a Four Letter Sword confers 5 Smithsness, although actually doing this might not make sense in many situations.
