Crop Changing

So today I had 6 peppermint sprouts (2 "bundles" of sprouts) available for harvest in my peppermint patch. I decided to not harvest them and change to my pumpkin patch. When I changed, there was 1 pumpkin available for harvest. Perhaps switching between crops will decrease the number of crops available by 1? Or half, maybe? Perhaps some spading can be done on this. When there are no crops, changing crops will not affect the number of crops available for harvest (i.e. still 0). Xiexingwu 06:25, 12 January 2012 (CET)

  • Without much evidence I believe the mechanic is: You can harvest once per day. If you change crops before harvesting, you will have a day one harvest available immediately. If you change crops after harvesting, you will have nothing to harvest until rollover. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 07:16, 12 January 2012 (CET)
    • Today I changed crop from a Huge pumpkin (5 days in) to the peppermint crops. I ended up only having 1 crop for harvest (i.e. 3 sprouts). Perhaps changing crops from >0 crop available will always result in 1 available of the other crops. --Xiexingwu 08:26, 22 January 2012 (CET)
      • That matches my prediction, and is just a rephrasing of the same mechanic. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 09:17, 22 January 2012 (CET)

General

Does this stay in the campsite after ascension? (My guess? Yes.)--Jeevesjaner 05:17, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

  • from Jick's Forum post "to fiddly to have to prepare for, so I made it reset to 1 pumpkin on ascension." --MadonKody 05:26, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

Is only one pumpkin available when one frees the king or do pumpkins grow in a garden while the player is in a BM run to be available then,. Thinking only one that is no rewards from days during the run. --MadonKody 06:02, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

Can someone make an animation of the pumpkin patch image like the one for Slimetube? It would make the image more accurate, where right now it seems like you get 5 pumpkin patches. I would, but my methods for animated images aren't so great. --T4kato 10:55, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

  • Gee wizzment, I wonder if anything special will happen if you let more than four grow?--Tombot 22:09, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
    • Item 4762 between pumpkin and pumpkin pie is still unknown, so I'd say that there's a very good chance of it! --Bale 00:36, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
      • I will find out after rollover, I've had a feeling about that so I haven't harvested although someone may beat me to it. --Chunky_boo 02:37, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

An animation showing the different stages of A Pumpkin Patch <- Is that okay? --Akatosh 11:03, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

Looks good to me, put it on the main page. The question we'll have to check tomorrow is whether harvesting pumpkins from a patch with >1 will give you all that's available to be harvested or just one per click. --Lordebon 15:17, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
  • Confirmed; clicking on the patch with multipl pumpkins yields all accrued, not just one.--R00k 06:10, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

In BM the pumpkin patch is visible if "you have freed King Ralf III and Recall Ancient Memories". Would someone improve this ugly phrase and update the main page note? --MadonKody 15:52, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

Can this be planted/harvested while in HC? --Method 19:59, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

  • Yes. I'm in a hardcore run and I was able to start my pumpkin patch shortly after rollover last night.--Noskilz 20:10, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

Do note that a Bad Moon run must a HC run. Thus that answer is already inferred in the notes. Should this be made more explicit i.e. a HC run with the "Bad Moon" moon sign, or is the hyper link enough? What proportion of the readers would not already understand this? --MadonKody 00:39, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Given that Bad Moom is hardcore only, saying Bad Moon is enough. Anyone that doesn't know what it is can click the link and find out easily enough. --Lordebon 01:50, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Ginormous Pumpkin

After roughly 10 days, I came out of BM and found a "Ginormous Pumpkin" taking up the whole patch graphic. It appears to be a dwelling--LumberingOaf 00:02, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

  • Did you save the image name for the campground image? --Flargen 00:25, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
    • Never mind, guessed it. --Flargen 00:30, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

Spades abound - this would mean that pumpkins can grow while the huge pumpkin is in the center, yes? and then those would turn into ginormous? Let's wait it out (I'll start out myself too). Also, making these gifs is turning into an annoyance. Argus 00:48, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

  • You do not get extra pumpkins hidden behind the huge one. Presumably after 10 or 11 days or whatever the huge simply becomes a ginormous. The ginormous pumpkin also presumably fills in the last remaining item number gap associated with the release of the pumpkin patch, so this should be the end of what can be obtained from the patch. --Flargen 00:53, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
  • I mean that since the four vines around the huge pumpkin are still empty, wouldn't those grow out as well? Argus 00:54, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

Lets not forget to get all of the messages and so forth.--Tombot 01:29, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
