Got myself burnt with this map: Map0.png. --Zeller 07:00, 11 October 2011 (CEST)

Sorry if the article sucks, I just saw that there wasn't one for this location and started it :x --The Kytan Apprentice 00:07, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

It's fine, better to have a mediocre page than none at all I suppose. That said, it seems that the puzzles aren't randomized and that there are a set amount, if a recent post from Riff is being interpreted by me right, "We tested the mazes pretty thoroughly, but if you're certain there's no solution submit a bug report and we'll check it out. " would imply that there's a certain amount. But maybe not. It is a mystery. --InvalidUser 07:33, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
That having been said, if there is a set amount of maps, then get out those grids. Here's mine. --InvalidUser 08:06, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Oh hey how bout that I figured it out (I, of course, use I in the "My clannie had the same puzzle and solved it.) Here it is, and I guess that confirms that there's a set amount of maps. --InvalidUser 08:45, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Perhaps we should be keeping track of all solutions if there are a finite number of mazes. Total number of mazes? At least three. InvalidUser's is third in my collection (his has a small error so I'm posting a correct version): one, two, three. --Bale 08:58, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

  • Notice that the second is just a mirror image of the first. We've only seen three distinct maps so far, right?--Buttons 15:58, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

The two puzzles I've seen were just a reverse/flip of each other. Which should reduce the number of possible solutions. --Darkwolf 09:16, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

My Sauceror had the same path as Bale's 2nd path, but my Patamancer got something different.--Nevalkarion 09:33, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

When I saw I was taking hot damage, I cranked out my hot resistance outfits. Didn't matter. I was even taking even more damage each time: 100, 177, 280... So, each miss costs more?--Modran 09:41, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Not in my experience no. I was getting anywhere from 60-100 a miss. --InvalidUser 09:45, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

My DB got bales 3rd maze, [1]. Discordance 11:38, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

I got the skip option after swimming back a few times despite healing after each one, but I forgot to count the number of times. I did lose more HP than my maximum before that, though. (Also, my AT had Nevalkarion's second path.) ~ Redwinger (talk) 12:06, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

  • I also got it while not being beaten up. I never got beaten up either so I guess it is mainly "After X attempts give the chicken-out option". Also: My SC had the first path listed by Bale up there. Winterbay 12:17, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

My DB got this too. --Peter50216 12:40, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

I had Bale's third path--Modran 13:12, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

My Turtle Tamer got the same thing as Nevalkarion's Pastamancer, but reflected horizontally.--Buttons 15:53, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

I don't know about anybody else's maze, but my maze is made up of 5 frames which repeat in a cycle. (The first frame removes the starting position after the first move.) Even the "bubbling lava" positions appear to be preserved in each frame. Whenever you find a loop (a set of moves that brings you back to the same coordinates), it will probably be a multiple of 5. --Krendel 18:47, 18 February 2010 (UTC) Edit: My maze appears to be 5 frames plus the move I have just made. Thus, if Frame 2 shows that 9,0 is normally empty, I can still move from 8,0 to 9,0 from Frame 1, if it appeared as a valid move on Frame 1.--Krendel 18:55, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

My AT had had Nevalkarion's second path but in mirror image vertically (flipped left-to-right)--Dibbin 19:03, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Full Spoiler

I am working on a full spoiler for this. I still need configurations which differ from the ones on the site itself, any help that you guys can give would be appreciated. Either links to spreadsheets which I can copy/paste the 1-5 annotated grids, or e-mails to me (contact me in game), with the source pages of all 5 puzzle frames for your puzzle are what I need to finish filling it out. There are probably 6 total puzzles, with various flips and rotations on them, but we won't know for sure how many there until we see how many we've got. The reason i'm doing it this way is to make a spoiler page that's totally consistent (not wildly different colorings/schemes from every other one), and because the paths i make are a lot cleaner and a bit easier to follow than highlighted numbers on a spreadsheet. --RoyalTonberry 19:34, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

  • Ok, this should be all done now. It looks like there are only 6 puzzles, made up of 3 puzzles and one reflection of each of those. --RoyalTonberry 21:40, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Just tried the script (http://mobius-bandits.dnsalias.org/~jik/scripts/instant_maze.user.js) Worked for map 3. --RikAstley 20:32, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

Actually, the script worked on any map I've encountered so far. Though my maze got messed up when I clicked on inventory while it was still moving. (There was no tile with stick figure anywhere when I returned, had to swim to shore.) --RikAstley 17:26, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Final Boss

I propose that the final boss dose in fact scale to your stats. I've beaten them at levels 38, 13, and 11 now. Most recently the AT boss could hit me fro 25 (I had 100 HP) with +30ML but only 14 with +10 ML (74% DR). The level 38 was getting hit for 70-80 damage. I couldn't hit the boss with my level 11 even with 170 some moxie however.

Probably more of note... After losing to the 2nd form once, When you go back to the volcano cave you enter combat with the 2nd form again right away. Skipping the whole first part of the fight (and allowing you to be fully healed going into it) --Darkwolf 17:35, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

I just took my level 11 DB in, with 401 buffed moxie (114 base) and was hit by the Demon of New Wave for the first three rounds, putting me a 1 HP, after which I defeated it with repeated use of Superamplified boom boxen. I had no trouble with the first boss at that moxie. Just another data point. --Aranach 19:12, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Quest Log

Where would this go?

Me and My Nemesis Congratulations on solving the lava maze, which is probably the biggest pain-in-the-ass puzzle in the entire game! Hooray! (Unless you cheated, in which case: Boo!) Now you just have to defeat the Spaghetti Elemental. Again.

...incidentally, after putting upwards of three hours into mapping out paths on one of the first goes at this maze, I am never going back to doing it on my own. I put in my time, and I don't care how much the game ridicules me. --Kilyle 11:24, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

Firefox Problem?

At some point in the past month or so, the lava maze stopped updating correctly for me. When I click on a rock to move, the configuration of the maze changes, but not in a way that makes sense. It almost looks like it's a move or two behind where I actually am. I can follow the path described in the external walkthrough page safely, but there are never any rocks along the path (in other words, I'm clicking blindly). Has anyone else encountered this, or does anyone know of a browser setting I can change to avoid it? Thanks. --DynSkeet 23:05, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

It is a known issue that appeared with Firefox 4. It is unclear whether it is a bug in firefox or a bug in kol. --Starwed 23:12, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
It is a firefox 4 bug, I filed a bug report and got a response from Gemelli as such. Might want to consider adding a banner to the page noting such. --Not Log 02:00, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
Just went through the lava maze on Firefox 5.0 and everything looked and behaved like it should. Either TPTB fixed it, or it was addressed in version 5. --DynSkeet 16:27, 31 July 2011 (CEST)
