Drop rates:

I've used the sandworm for 5 combats, and got agua on combat 2 and 3. If we all add our data, we can try and find out the drop rate. --Jcowley 15:40, 3 June 2009 (UTC) Another person got 3 on 2, 13, 20, from 22 combats. Another got 2,12,18, from 24 turns. --Jcowley 16:22, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm not sure if this was a bug or an area-specific issue. Yesterday, I decided to farm the Haiku Dungeon with my baby sandworm (lead necklace) with my hardcore multi. It had dropped 3 agua de vida in the Knob Laboratory in 40 adventures, followed by 0 drops in 140 adventures in the Haiku Dungeon. The Canadian Mind Control Device was set to 11. --Krendel 10:00 10 July 2009 (EDT)

Haiku-speech is weird
Agua drop is general
Perhaps you missed it.

If you ascend, do the drops reset, or if you have your five are you done? --Feasoron 14:48, 14 July 2009

Both ascension and rollover reset it so you can get another 5 drops. --Fig bucket 19:58, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

It seems, that drop rate somehow depends on Monster Level and your stats. Being at level 12.5 (94/146/92 unbuffed after rollover) (HCO) I've completed Orchard and Nuns quests and got all 5 bottles in 48 adventures. Day later, while I was level 13.5 (99/153/98) and spent whole day killing Frats i got 3 bottles in 48 adventures and another one in next 27 adventures. --raorn 23:09, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

  • Two days is hardly a convincing study. I think that's ye olde RNG having fun with you. But I could be wrong! --Azeltir 03:47, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
    • I also could be wrong, but I have strong feeling, that backfarming gives less bottles. --raorn 07:18, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

So...what's the new drop rate? October 7 announcement says that a bug in the drop rate was fixed, no details. Ironically, I seem to be getting fewer now--I was averaging 5 in about 40 turns, and now there are days when I can't get 5 in 130+ adv. Either way, I assume that everything that's been said about rate so far in this article is now invalid, since Jick says he changed it...but this article still seems to be saying nothing about it. drop mechanic

first three days of an HCO, sandworm out, no bottles. 120 turns (including crafting/non-combats, admittedly) and no bottles whatsoever? something else is going on. --Evilkolbot 11:57, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

  • I remember getting bottles early HCO last ascension, because I remember having a few unusuable bottles b/c of level requirement. --CG1:t,c,e 23:01, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
    • rng love. damn. --Evilkolbot 11:34, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
  • hmm, backfarming for lucre in the spooky forest i get none again, but upping ML gave me two (and only two) very quickly. first guess, something like floor(ML / 20). when i'm done with this hco (hopefully before SSPD XXIV) i'll confirm that there's no such correlation. --Evilkolbot 12:00, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
I think your worm is just playing a mind$%(# game on you, bud. I do plain ol' SCNP ascensions, and use the worm every day for 3 de vida. Every now and then, I go almost the whole day before getting my 3, but there's no pattern to it at all. Only once so far have I gone the first day without getting them in a reasonable time, and I'm still level 3-4 then. - Msanychta (talk|contribs) 12:41, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Stat gains

You don't get the sombrero stat gains from a fight that you get agua from. It's an either/or mechanic. --AtroPhied 17:31, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

  • Er.. my bad. Scarab Beatles are just lower level than everything else in the Oasis. --AtroPhied 17:36, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
    • Ok, changing my mind on this one again. 15lb sandworm fighting a ghuol with the MCD at 10 (total ML is therefore 29), getting 7 total substats when an agua drops. This could only happen if stat gains are reduced/nullified when the spleen item is dropped. --AtroPhied 05:57, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

I can actually corroborate that the stat gains are reduced, if not completely gone, from agua-drop fights. Fighting two scorched ducks sequentially resulted in one giving me 25/9/8 and an agua, the other gave me 28/10/11 and no agua. I also had 25/13/13, 22/13/14, 22/10/10 + agua, and 25/10/15 from fighting four Gremlins in a row, all of which are in a fairly tight ML band. --Cait 17:55, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

It's hardly conclusive spading, but I've just been using my sandworm in the tower. I was getting ~200 substat for the first 3 levels, but then agua dropped on 4 & 5 and I only got ~45 substats. I presume that sombrero stats are removed when agua drops. Tdrawler 17:36, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

I don't see it mentioned here, but it looks like he'll also drop at the end of battles where stats aren't given out. I just got an agua after defeating the first form of the Naughty Sorceress.--Al Khowarizmi 22:40, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
