Pool Chalk

"if you don't know how to play billiards, you don't know about why chalk is there" This argument could be made about anything. The wiki isn't a depository of general knowledge. It doesn't tell you why you fight cans in the pantry, or goats in the mountains. It's the billiards room for Pete's sake. There is chalk in billiards rooms. --Darz 21:51, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

  • Lest this start going back and forth-- I agree with Darz. The reference in question was more of a statement of fact than a cultural reference. --TechSmurf 23:56, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

I encountered this monster in my last 3 adventures, and each time was able to one-hit kill it with the pool cue, doing between 50-75 damage. I am a turtle tamer, without any of the elemental forms or bonus elemental damage. probably a bug, but 3 times in a row makes me wonder.--Godica 19:04, 9 January 2008 (CST)

The Chalkdust Wraith has 9-10 HP.

"Physical attacks" also seems to apply to physicalesque skills (such as Moxious Madrigal). --Coyerre 17:49, 20 September 2006 (GMT)

HP

Hmm - when I used spells to kill the wraith, it always takes 21 damage to kill it. When I use spices or physical means, it always takes 10 damage to kill it. Is there a new mechanic at work here, or am I just missing something? --Gymnosophist 13:56, 20 September 2006 (CDT)

I think this monster scales. With my level 28 character I'm hitting it with lots of chronic indgiestions (each in the mid 20's damage) before it does. My very low level (4) alternate character kills it with one chronic indigestion. Here's a fight for my lvl 28 (523/544/750(747)): 16+1, 20+1, 12+1, 18+1, dead. That's minimum 52HP at level 28. Not References

  • The Phrase "It tries to envelop and suffocate you, but you can hold your breath for a long, long time." Is in refrence to Stephen King's Screenplay Creepshow. In one of the stories Leslie Nielson is buried up to the neck below the high tide line by Ted Danson's Ghost and exlaims he can hold his breath for a long, long time.
    • This needs a more precise quote to be believable. I think it refers to the breath-holding prowess of Guybrush Threepwood. --Jonrock 10:38, 28 September 2006 (CDT)
      • Were it a reference to Guybrush, I would assume the text to refer to "ten minutes". As it is, I really don't think it's a reference at all. It's too much of a strecth to attach it to anything. --Aardvark (Talk | Contribs) 01:29, 10 October 2006 (CDT)

Resistance

I seem to be only doing 1 spooky damage, despite using a spiked femur. --Shokwave 03:18, 9 October 2006 (CDT)

That's because this monster has Spooky Resistance. I will add this to the monster info on the "Haunted Billiards Room" Page.--Jubbers 06:30, 9 October 2006 (CDT)

Probably a bug, but at least right now my vampire cape is doing more than 1 damage on a critical hit. (I just hit for 1 damage with a critical, and then the cape hit for 4).--Adbax 15:03, 16 December 2006 (CST)

  • Addendum - happens in the Knob Shaft as well.--Adbax 15:06, 16 December 2006 (CST)
    • Addendum^2 - Actually counting the damage, it looks more like the vampire cape isn't doing any damage at all. If I ignore cape damage, it's always taking 10 to kill it. So it's a different kind of bug. :)--Adbax 15:12, 16 December 2006 (CST)

Hand chalk twice failed to drop from defeated chalkdust wraiths. Perhaps the drop rate has been changed since 2006. --Professor Why 08:18, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

  • You probably pickpocketed the chalk, if you're "Professor Why" in game, you're a level 9 disco bandit at the moment, and probably just didn't notice that pickpocket got the item. --RoyalTonberry 09:12, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Stat Gain

The amount of stat from this monster is certainly not 5. I only got 8 stats with a 18-pound volleyball. - Jeek 06:56, 24 May 2007 (CDT)
