List of locations

I'll post here the links to the most up-to-date public lists of zones affected by delay, since that is what most people coming to this page are probably looking for:

Thanks to AFH for the spading! --Groli 00:37, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Just got We'll All Be Flat on the 3rd turn in The Haunted Ballroom after reading the diary. --Professor Why 22:44, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

  • Had you spent two or more turns in the ballroom BEFORE reading the diary? --Flargen 23:43, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
    • Yes; more than 5 in fact. If it is generally true that the delay counter on adventures with other conditions (e.g. At Least It's Not Full Of Trash) can be decremented before the other conditions are satisfied, that should be stated explicitly. It does have strategy implications, albeit minor ones (e.g. I should be spending exactly 5 turns in The Hidden Temple at level 5-6). --Professor Why 06:18, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
      • Why would it mean you should spend turns there at 5-6? Even unlocking it by then is wasting your turns by not using up your runaways in the woods. --Flargen 06:37, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
        • Because 50 substat is a lot more useful at level 5 than at level 11. And the only free runaway sources in Hardcore are 25 million meat IotMs (poppers and the Bandersnatch, neither of which I have). --Professor Why 07:08, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
          • Oh, right, there are people who don't have those things. You're unlikely to get that 50 substat in your main stat. Do you have a hipster? You can use hipster fights to burn off delays. And hidden temple turns are generally way less productive than turns anywhere else in the game (crappy stat gains, even when they're maxed out, plus chances of losing a lot of HP/MP). So spending a total of 5 noncombats and hipster fights there early on might not be such a bad idea. Though that MP drain can be brutal at low levels, when you're really scrambling for meat and MP. --Flargen 08:01, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
            • Definitely agreed that they're unproductive turns in general, and that the hipster is a good way to mitigate that. Unfortunately, the game requires you to adventure there sooner or later, and its EV of 12.5 mainstat points per turn doesn't compare horribly with the other locations accessible to everyone at level 5. The HP loss can't be helped, but I always burn MP on summons or buffs before venturing inside. BTW, since I just got Trash on the 3rd post-diary Temple turn after spending 5 turns there early in my run, I'm going add a short clarification to the main page and to Hidden Temple Strategy. --Professor Why 09:08, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Also, I got two Immateria on consecutive turns yesterday. --Professor Why 09:22, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
