suddgestion(i know, misspelled) try with the 4 alters in the hidden city.

Possibly a reference to the Michael Crichton Book "Sphere"? --Shoptroll 14:09, 6 December 2007 (CST)

I tried the Hidden City Altars but they are locked after they were used in the past quest. So we don't have the option to try. I'm guessing we are going to have to build/find/repair the sinister altar and use it there. RDOlivaw4 11:21 8 December 2007 (CST)

It doesn't fit in the altars in the Hidden City. The game fails to recognise that it is round, so you are not even presented with the option of trying it. --Mtfns 11:40, 9 December 2007 (CST)

The game now recognises the object is round, but rejects it and poisons you. --Starwed 15:41, 24 December 2007 (CST)

Taking it a tiki island also has no effect - I just got the usual message and an altar fragment. --Mtfns 11:57, 9 December 2007 (CST)

I think this might have something to do with the large stone triangle. Just sayin'. Might be if you use the triangle with this in inventory it'll unlock like a chest.--Jorgelhorf 12:10, 9 December 2007 (CST) Jorgelhorf

  • Seeing as how the Triangle has a [use] link and the sphere doesn't and both reference glowing blue lights, I'm pretty sure that's the right line of thinking. --Shoptroll 14:04, 9 December 2007 (CST)
    • These cannot be discarded, they have no sell price, and they can not be used. There is something more to these spheres, I guarantee it. The only reason to make them undiscardable that I'm thinking of at the moment is that something happens (probably with the triangles) when enough stone spheres have been found. --Dunsel 13:19, 12 December 2007 (CST)

My line of thinking is that there are more triangle-type usables (not neccessarily that shape), and that the sphere is just a booby prize, like the altar fragments and rainbow sand, as I recieved 2 spheres from the same location, that I was led to believe was where the triangle was found.--Olaf 14:23, 9 December 2007 (CST)

  • That appears to be the case, as someone using the map linked below reported finding a medium stone triangle @ (81,40) which subsequently is dropping spheres only. --Drewbear 20:25, 9 December 2007 (CST)

Can someone map where the spheres were found? -Altmin 16:45, 9 December 2007 (CST)

  • [86,40], visited 4 times, found 1 'medium stone triangle', 3 'strange stone sphere' was listed in the raw data --Shoptroll 20:30, 9 December 2007 (CST)

86,40 visited twice, got two strange stone spheres [using multi shedragon]--flykitty 22:20, 9 December 2007 (CST)

Has anyone looked into this item's file name? It may be a reference to Powerball, an American multi-state lottery. Then again, it may not suggest anything at all. Just something to consider.--Seahawk730 21:06, 24 January 2008 (CST)

Funny thing, nobody has pointed out (not even the PTB) that this is yet *another* item that can be sung to London Bridge or Camptown Races. How many are there now, like 5 or 6 at least? Just some random thought. --Jimfromtx 23:10, 9 February 2008 (CST)

It doesn't really lend itself to the meter properly. The syllables in the item's name are meant to be emphasized longer, and to have longer spaces between them, then the syllables in the song are. Basically, what I'm saying is that it just feels off when you try to say this to the tune, and a good rule of thumb is "if it sounds off/bad, it's not a true match". Plus, not every last thing has to have that mentioned. --Flargen 23:19, 9 February 2008 (CST)
