I had 1122 turns of Salamanderenity and used flying fire fist on Baron Von Ratsworth and did 5642 hot damage. --Lemon-claw 00:24, 17 August 2011 (CEST)

Looking at the note about # of skills being an effect as well, I wonder if it's not 5 * kata turns, but #skills * kata turns... since 5 skills would be what speedy people would get to be able to complete an ascention without unneeded turns. I'll test that after I get some sleep and when I've got a scroll in hand; should be a simple cast kata - cast fire fist // cast cata - use scroll - cast fire fist comparison, at least for estimation purposes. --Terion 10:06, 23 August 2011 (CEST)

  • I had 11 Fist skills when I tested this, that's how I came up with the original guess of 51 + 5*Kata --RoyalTonberry 10:31, 23 August 2011 (CEST)
Ah, OK. I just got a couple scrolls, so I'll do some tests against beanbats, so I always have the same monster and there's no elemental interaction. (Level 8 Clubber with stats of 74(61), 59(44), 51(41).)
  • 7 skills, cast Kata for 21 turns, burned beanbat for 135.
  • Cast Kata for 21 turns, used scroll to 8 skills, burned beanbat for 137.
  • Cast Kata for 24 turns, burned beanbat for 153.
  • Cast Kata for 24 turns, used scroll to 9 skills, burned beanbat for 156.
  • Cast Kata for 27 turns, burned beanbat for 172. (Gained Muscle to 75(62))
  • For fun, cast Kata for 270 turns, burned beanbat for 1387.
  • Split the diff, cast Kata for 135 turns, burned beanbat for 712.
  • Got another scroll without gaining more stats, so figured I'd add in another level of data...
  • Cast Kata for 27 turns, used scroll to 10 skills, burned beanbat for 174.
  • Cast Kata for 30 turns, burned beanbat for 190.
  • Cast Kata for 150 turns, burned beanbat for 790.
  • Cast Kata for 300 turns, burned beanbat for 1539.
Hopefully that helps sort out the underlying formula. Keeping the turns of Kata the same and adding a skill seemed to add a couple points, but of course it's a tiny sample. --Terion 22:50, 23 August 2011 (CEST)

On looking through that, from the times I use 5x and 10x the casts of Kata, I agree that part of the formula is 5x turns of Salamanderenity. Separating out the portion allocated to that, we get the amount of damage unaccounted for. (SA) is where I read a scroll to increase my Skill After casting the kata for the turns, though I can't imagine that KoL actually tracks if turns of Kata had been added while at 8 skills or 9; that seems insane when you start blending turns together by gaining skills and then casting katas on top of existing turns of Salamanderenity.

  • 7 skills, 21 turns - 30
  • 8 skills, 21 turns (SA) - 32
  • 8 skills, 24 turns - 33
  • 9 skills, 24 turns (SA) - 36
  • 9 skills, 27 turns - 37
  • 9 skills, 135 turns - 37
  • 9 skills, 270 turns - 37
  • 10 skills, 27 turns (SA) - 39
  • 10 skills, 30 turns - 40
  • 10 skills, 150 turns - 40
  • 10 skills, 300 turns - 39

So, it does seem like some kind of increase with number of skills known, possibly with a small random variance of 1-ish (going by the 40-39 when I went to 300 turns at 10 skills with no other changes.) It seems to be going up just a few points each skill level; assuming RT was a higher level than I am (8th) when he got his base of 51, perhaps it's some amount based on level and a small amount based on number of skills. That's about as far as I can go; I'll leave it to the person who goes and gets huge piles of data points across a spread of levels to figure the exact numbers. :D --Terion 23:40, 23 August 2011 (CEST)

This can kill tower monsters. At 22458 turns against the giant fried egg in the tower, "You concentrate all of your body heat into your fist, then shake it at your opponent. The resulting fireball sears it for 112326 damage. Hadouken! You lose an effect: Salamanderenity You win the fight!" --Deneri 08:03, 24 August 2011 (CEST)

  • you surely can. perhaps this thread would be of interest to you. --Evilkolbot 13:09, 24 August 2011 (CEST)
    • The Guy Made of Bees is also vulnerable. Had around 23,000 turns saved up, killed him in one punch.--Zorkman 10:20, 4 September 2011 (CEST)

Guise, I've just obtained and used Fire Fist, in my case it does 13 damage, which also happens to be my unbuffed Muscle stat (current class: Pastamancer). Commence spading more data points! --Rikastley 10:47, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

Spaded about as much as I could (plain Fire Fist, no Kata buff), results:

  • 16 muscle, 2 fist skills learned: 14-16
  • 17 muscle, 2 fist skills learned: 14-16
  • 18 muscle, 3 fist skills learned, 4rd scroll acquired: 17,18,19

--Rikastley 11:30, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

  • When I originally saw the 51 base damage with 11 skills, I had 68 base Muscle. --RoyalTonberry 03:09, 28 August 2011 (CEST)

More data: (plain Fire Fist, no Kata buff)
