Gnauga Hides & Clockwork Apparatus have only given me generics, anyone else get anything good from the "new" outfits? --JRSiebz 22:04, 31 Aug 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

Just an FYI, we need still Outfit Specific Halloween adventure pages.--JRSiebz 22:42, 31 Aug 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

  • Update: Just need the fruitcake / Crimbo Outfit adventure! I dont have that one ;-), and if someone could check on the Radio Free Regala too that'd be great. I ripped the html from kol for all the adventure links I created so I have the info, I'll enter them time and lag permitting. People should read up on all the trick or treating adventures, I noticed more than a few cultural references in there. ;-) --JRSiebz 01:53, 1 Sep 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • I'm going to sleep, so I'll temporarily dump all the trick or treating info here for your guys ;-). Still need the fruitcake / Crimbo Outfit adventure!!!! --JRSiebz 02:17, 1 Sep 2005 (Central Daylight Time) --Link removed, no longer needed ;-)--

Antique Arms And Armor = Bit O' Ectoplasm Thats the only info I took note of sorry, and I was just T&T to check for it--Practitioner of Saucy Arts 02:12, 20 September 2006 (CDT)

A note: October 9 is Scott Bakula's birthday. This should probobly go in the references section, if someone cares more than I do.

Adventuring in costume with the Unionize The Elves sign appears to have no effect on either the adventures themselves or the frequency with which they occur.--Yiab 22:54, 30 October 2006 (CST)

This page is WAY too cluttered with crimboween stuff, rendering this page almost unusable if I just want to read about halloween. Any objects to me moving some of this over to Crimboween instead?--Dehstil (t|c) 16:45, 18 December 2006 (CST)

Halloween XII (Crimboween) seemed to have the old Halloween XI adventures right after rollover, but when I left and came back shortly later, I had the normal Halloween adventures instead, and never saw a Crimboween one. (Worth noting?) --Spinballwizard 23:29, 24 December 2006 (CST)

Stupid Clown Suit

In case any one had high hopes (like me) of using the Terrifying Clown Suit as a Halloween costume (right here), the game, sadly, doesn't recognise it as a costume. Tragic. Anyway, prolly should be specifically noted on the wiki in case any other poor bastard (yeah, me) spends 8 large meat on the bow tie.

An sucker is me.

War Hippy Suit

I spent 20 adventures in the War Hippy outfit, and received pop rocks, daffy taffy, 3x yummy tummy beans, and Mr Medeocre adventures/events. I think its safe to say there is no special candy for the War Hippy outfit... yet --Grimdel 01:12, 5 July 2007 (CDT)

This appears to be the case for a few others too; Frat Warrior, Black Armaments, Palmist Paraphernalia, and possibly even the Tapered Threads. --Sparksol 01:36, 5 July 2007 (CDT)

Halloween XV; October 09, 2007

Wearing Frat Warrior Fatigues, guess what happened! I got daffy taffy, Yummy Tummy beans, Mr. Mediocrebar... and this:

Chad, the Veteran Frat Boy Who's there? Stay back, bra, I have a paddle and I'm not afraid to use it!

Oh, it's a trick-or-treater. Jeez, bra, you should know better than to scare somebody who has seen the horrors of war. I mean, I was on the front lines, bra. You wouldn't believe some of the messed-up stuff I've seen. I mean, I was only sitting on the sidelines of the front lines, y'know, watching the war and cheering 'em on, but around noon we ran out of beer. I've never been so sober for so long in my life.

It was crazy, bra -- all of a sudden I started thinking the weirdest stuff, like "why am I covered in body paint? I look like an idiot!" and "you know, women are the intellectual and emotional equals of men, and I should treat them with more respect." I even thought, "I used to drink just to lower my inhibitions and unwind, but now I'm pretty much hammered 24/7. I think I have a problem."

Ever since then, I've been pounding the beer bongs, bra, but I can't get my buzz back! Take my word for it, kid, never let that happen to you. You should down all of these as quick as you can.

Adventuring with the Bounty-Hunting Rig gives me the following:

Princess Layla

Hey, aren't you a little short for a bounty hunter? I'm going to have to get down on my knees to talk to you! I'm beggin' darlin', please, tell me what you want from me. What, you don't recognize me? It's somebody who loves you!

What do you mean, 'I know?' What kind of an answer is that when someone tells you that they love you! Take off that mask and let me see you.

Oh, you're a trick-or-treater. Forget everything I just said.

What? Yeah, I did make this gold bikini myself. I'm glad you like it. You don't think it's too skimpy, do you?

Hey, do you want to see something I've been working on in my spare time? I've figured out how to make shiny, clean laser beams in the most fetching shade of yellow -- okay, fine, just take your candy and go. lucre.gif You acquire an item: chocolate filthy lucre --Pixelsnbits 23:40, 8 October 2007 (CDT)

Oh, you're just trick-or-treating? Well, I guess the forced redistribution of candy is pretty radical, in and of itself. Here, take this candy and share it with your brothers and sisters! Just remember, to steal from a brother or sister is evil. To not steal from the institutions that are the pillars of the Pig Empire is equally immoral.

No, not literal pigs, man. It's a metaphor, see, for -- ah, just take the candy and get out of here.

What? No, actually we don't leave for several days. Why do you ask? Anyway, since you're here, tell me what you think of a new theory I've formulated. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you adventurers do not. You go to an area and you adventure and adventure until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is?

No, not a virus. Huh, that's actually better than my theory. I was going to say, "a piece of candy." But a virus works much better. Thanks, I'll revise my treatise.

On a completely unrelated note, have some candy.

I got this, while using up the rest of my adventures in a filthy hippy disguise:

Linnea, the Scream Queen

Aiiiiieeeee! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Welcome, adventurer, to my holiday, Halloween! The spookiest, scariest, frightiest frightfest of them all! Quake in fear for your very soul, for the dead walk tonight!

Okay, yeah, demons are always hanging out around here. But tonight, bats and black cats and... uh... well, it's really scary, okay?

What's so scary about getting candy, you ask? Well, just try eating this candy! Be careful, there's a spooky surprise inside! Try not to choke on it!

Seriously, don't choke on it. We don't have the budget that Crimbo does, and we can't handle any more lawsuits.

Do the combat adventures happen everywhere like the tofurkeys or just while trick or treating? --JRSiebz (|§|) 06:33, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Like the tofurkeys. --Flargen 06:35, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Trick or Treating with the new single item outfit items does not generate a noncombat adventure, but a results page! Where should we put those? --JRSiebz (|§|) 07:10, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

  • They should be placed on pages with names that seem indicative of their contents. All of the sea exploration stuff are results pages, for example, and have names inspired by their content; LOST for example. For that witch one...just Witch? Or "A witch's brew", or "A Brewing Witch"? --Flargen 07:54, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
    • The encounter is with "a woman in long black robes", like the first one is "a little kid", and the other, well i dunno ;-) --JRSiebz (|§|) 08:06, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
      • "Long black robes and a pointy hat", you mean. I was intentionally trying to shorten the adventure name. The other one is some sort of chef...I didn't bother to save the results pages while getting them. So uncharacteristic of me. --Flargen 08:10, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Also, the new everywhere adventures should be listed on this page like the roaming Feast of Boris adventures on its page. All the trick or treating results and adventures probably should be moved to its own page, like Trick or Treat! (the location image and the page with the "hit the streets" button are both labeled that) , since it has its own location in Seaside Town now - just like Yuletide and A Yuletide Bonfire are separate pages. So maybe outfit -> candy list and them roaming adventures here, adventure templates with pics on trick or treat page? --JRSiebz (|§|) 07:48, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Why does the main Halloween article skip October 31, 2008? Shouldn't that be the predicted Halloween XXI? --StorellaDeville 13:00, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Halloween again today too... --EnderW 05:40, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Adventuring in the underwater content will shorten the number of fights before encountering a mutant to 15, because of the 2 adventures spent per fight. Is this worth mentioning? Also, the mutant fights still loose you 2 adventures, which makes sense narratively, but means that the mutants appear to be able to breath underwater--Scutterman 10:19, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Adventuring with a level 40 disco bandit (was running around with over 1900 buffed moxie), the monsters only gave me 125 substats after adjusting for moxie day, meaning that it looks like they cap out at 500 ML. I also got the encounters 24, 25, and 26 adventures apart in HCO --MindlessGames 18:04, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

  • I'm a level 36 Disco Bandit, Moxie is 1200+, it's not Moxie day today, and consistently for 4 mutant combats, I have received exactly 127 substats for each combat adventure.--Amazing 10:22, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Has anyone gotten a divine cracker to work on the special monsters? I have had a 0% success rate. --Archon7777 12:04, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

A minor note: you can run into the special monsters while falling-down drunk. I don't know if this has been previously confirmed or not. --Pneuma08 16:27, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Crimbo Foreshadowing?

I was wondering if perhaps this has something to do with crimbo. Last year there was the dodecahedron as a hint to the crimborg. The year before that was the crimboween memo given out AT HALLOWEEN! Maybe this crimbo involves the penguin mafia and their "new business associate"--Sacul097 23:11, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

By all accounts, a cross interpretation of the GGS and Raffle House messages implies some kind of Grimicite-related mishap, that is apparently, as mentioned above, mutating the monsters from the closest area, the Desert. Reading into the RH text, one can assume that the Penguin Mafia is going to try and flee, and it's a safe bet that this mysterious 'business partner' will play a role in the near future. Some are beginning to smell Rudolph, whilst others think that we saw the last of him in his assimilated Crimborg form last year. Whether or not it'll be Crimbo content, although highly likely, is yet to be seen.--Chugsworth 05:56, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

  • It seems pretty obvious based on context that he meant "fleece", not "flee". Eran of Arcadia 16:11, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Page Reformatting

This page is hard to edit, and it's hard to navigate through, and it's hard to find missing content to add. Took for forever to notice the Floaty Fatigues adventure was missing. Therefore, I'd like to replace the 3 hard to read lists in the Special Items section with the tables I temporarily chucked at User:JRSiebz/temp. Outfit number is included so that I'd be easier to notice missing outfits when sorted. And I'd like to split off the extremely long list of Trick or Treating {{Adventure}} templates in the Adventure section of to a page called Trick or Treat!. That way the easier to read reference sheet would be on Halloween and the expanded details on Trick or Treat!, which is practically its own adventuring location anyway. The roving Special Halloween adventures would stay on the Halloween page, like El Dia de Los Muertos Borrachos and Feast of Boris do. Maybe list/stack/inlineItem could be used on the tables, but I think that would be overkill. Any objections? Concerns? --JRSiebz (|§|) 03:02, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

  • Yeah, it's getting unwieldy. I'm in favor of table-ifying the outfit-specific stuff and getting rid of the corresponding trick-or-treat images. Also, the Halloween drops are listed on the "outfit" page, which might be a better place for all that information anyway. I'd keep the roaming monsters (Halloween XX) here. --Itsatrap 08:00, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

  • I am finding the list of halloween dates to be getting rather tedious. Is there something we can do about it? My idea was something like: User:Plater/Halloween I don't like how it came out exactly, but that idea.

Halloween whatever (Oct 31, 2011)

Dual-outfit trick or treating is possible. Wearing one outfit, and using the potions to get the effect of a second outfit, you can get two special candies in addition to the normal generic candies.

In 207 turns (I didn't learn that this was possible until I was part-way through a potion), wearing transparent trappings and using whisker pencils, I got 68 plexipips (33%), 51 lobos mints (25%), and 88 other (43%). --Greycat 15:01, 31 October 2011 (CET)

I did the same thing for 180 turns, in the plexi outfit for 150 turns and in the brimstone outfit for 30 turns. Out of 180 turns, I got 66 outfit adventures and 38 lobos mints.

Total: 387 adventures

134/387 outfit adventures (35%)

89/387 effect adventures (23%) --Clopedion 00:30, 1 November 2011 (CET)

Halloween XLIV

Whoever is cleaning up some of my edits, thank you. Just trying to get things on the page; I know it wasn't beautiful. I wonder if the Bowl of Candy choice is semi-rare, or perhaps one-time this day; I've gone through at least 8 sets of houses and only gotten the adventure once. The page still needs some cleaning and such, and all the items need pages, but we're on our way. --Lukarnis (talk) 17:17, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

  • You're welcome. I'm glad someone added the section in the first place. You can/should check out the Show preview button to see if links will work or not. It really helps with editing. And don't worry too much: Using a wiki properly is nothing that you learn overnight. ;) --Yatsufusa (talk) 17:28, 25 October 2013 (UTC)
  • Huge bowl of candy is only at the house with the star on it, seems to occur roughly every 4-5 block refreshes (more spading required), more than one house with a star can be on the map at once. I have also observed that the non-combat candies seem to come from the better looking houses while the combat adventures seem to take place in the run down dwellings.--MageRed (talk) 22:33, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

Avatar-changing effects and outfits

Do any other avatar changing effects (such as those given by the Monster Manuel) also count as outfits for the purposes of Halloween? If not, where would be a good place to point this out, considering the Haunted Sorority effects?--Leaper (talk) 00:35, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

Halloween L

Should it be mentioned that on Halloween L the new outfits (High-Radiation Mining Gear, Crimbot Crimboutfit, Topiaria, Synthetic Suit, Ceramic Suit, Spelunker's Gear) had candy, but did not yet have a unique adventure (at least for all the times I checked)? Instead, they all had text:

"You encounter a picture of a developer who forgot that today was Halloween. In front of it is a bowl of candy and a sign that says "Take One". You get the feeling that if you came back in a few hours, there'd be something way more interesting here, but take a piece of candy anyways."

I'm not sure if this page is the place for this information or not. -Abbywill (talk) 16:37, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
