Talk:Red Tongue

I have just clarified the reference connecting the Red Snowcone to communism. The original page, stating, "In the 1950s, Americans nicknamed Communists "Reds"," is inaccurate and Amero-centric. Communists were "reds" long before the 1950s, as red is traditionally a color used symbolically by socialist movements since the late 1800s, and the term "red" describing a socialist or communist is used worldwide, not just in 1950s America. --Kingdobbs 15:34, 6 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

The reference may be "Amero-centric," but it was certainly not inaccurate. Incomplete, yes. Inaccurate, no. --Gothhenge 18:39, 12 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

For a total of sixty turns checked with and without Red Tongue, the new average additional percentage of meat dropped from monsters seem to be rather close to +20% (18 and 25% at other times when tested on Yetis, assuming the average meat drop with no meat/familiars is 200 (average between 160 and 240) from a Yeti). --Memnarch6 08:29, 7 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

I just took 80 runs at the Icy Peak, 40 with Red Tongue and 40 without. My average was 547 meat per adventure without, and 611 with Red Tongue. From these numbers, it looks more like a 10% increase. This is with a 35 lb Cymbal-Playing Monkey, so it is possible that there is some-sort of max meat cap. Regardless, I haven't seen anything close to a +25% meat drop. I'm revising the % listed until we get more confirmation on the actual % increase. --Famine 12:08, 3 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)

  • Did some calculating on your numbers considering that all meat boosters get added together before it affects the meat gains and got to the number that the red tongue increased your meat gains with 32%. (This using 200 meat as base drop from Yetis). So I am changing the nuber here back to 25% more meat. -- NitraMo SA IA 13:17, 3 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)

Did 200 trips to the Peak, 100 with red tongue, 100 without. The 100 with gave me 25,793 meat and the 100 without gave me 19,932 meat. With red tongue it is a 29.4% increase, or 30% rounded off. I guess someone need to do a really big research on this considering that we are getting so diffrent result. (I had no other meat increase stuff/buffs on me any of the time doing this.) -- NitraMo SA IA 13:08, 3 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)

I tested this in the beginning of month with 200+ adventures of either type (with cone and without) The boost is clearly 25% or 50 meat per turn on peak.

It will be +50 no matter what is your real drop rate, so if you have 600 base, then it may look like 10% boost, but remember how are +meat drop rates calculated. --JanoSicek 16:14, 3 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)
