Talk:Sushi-rolling mat
Based on what shows up for mine, sushi requires a fish meat (any) and white rice. One white rice for each - I have 7 beefy fish meat and 6 rice and the drop-down bar says beefy nigiri (6), but I have 4 glistening fish meat and it says glistening nigiri (4).
Anyway, you can make beefy, glistening, and slick nigiri. Nothing with the veggies yet, and I'm too full to try them (15 fullness, too, so it says nothing about how many they take up)--Sel Ibrix 08:55, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Eating beefy nigiri gives you 20 turns of Fishy. --Jfshade 09:56, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Does warm belly effect the fishy bonus?--Hornedturtle 17:39, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
"Naked woman for a plate" can also be a reference to an episode of the Surreal Life where this happened in a very literal sense. This was the season with Vern Troyer and Greg Brady. -Four of Five, 17:05, 12/5/2008.
- Unlikely - On one of the J&S shows, Skully mentioned knowing a place where you could eat sushi off a naked woman. Jick seemed surprised/intriged by this, so this might be where Skully got the notion to put this in the game. --Grimdel 00:24, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Uh, if Nigiri is eaten, doesn't that make it Food? If it's food, is it eaten the minute you make it, or is it in your inventory? --OvenMasher 22:28 5 December 2008 (EST?)
Limit
Has anyone tried buy more than one of these WHILE having enough sand dollars for it? When I go in with 300 and try to buy more than 1, it just buys 1. No special message or anything. If it does this when you have enough sand dollars for the amount you put in as well, this item's plural would be impossible. --Flargen 04:26, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
- I didn't try that (I had already bought one) but I confirmed that each character can only have one of these, even through ascension. As for the plural (this was already added shortly after your original post so I'm just saying it here for completeness), this item is usable so using "/use? 2 sushi-rolling mat" in chat confirms the plural. --TheDotGamer 06:05, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- What about coming up with 300 sand dollars in bad moon? Rumor has it that works for the hobo monkey, but as that is a familiar the mechanics are different. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 06:59, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- Good point. I hadn't thought about that. You wouldn't need 300 sand dollars to see if you could get it though. It doesn't show up if you already bought it (at least in non-BM) so if you can gain access to Big Brother and can see the mat, it's probably possible to get a duplicate. --TheDotGamer 09:35, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

I have one in my dc and one in inventory, but I don't recall exactly how that came about. I think that I did some trickery with leaving it in Hagnks but pulling meat or sand dollars when I went after the 2nd one. Now that I think about it, it may have been on the heels of an old no-aftercore bad moon run where I accessed Hangks via url injection.--Dqp 02:23, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Looks like at some point (possibly when the cost was dropped?) the buy-one limit was removed. I just purchased one (my second) and it remains available in the shop. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 21:51, 7 March 2012 (CET)
Sushi
OK, let's eat. All of these were eaten with milk of magnesium running:
You eat the beefy nigiri. You gain 5 Adventures. You acquire an effect: Fishy (duration: 20 Adventures) You gain 10 Fortitude.
I then drank a sake drink to get warm belly.
You eat the glistening nigiri. The fish mixes with the warm sake in your belly. Satisfying! You gain 7 Adventures. You acquire an effect: Fishy (duration: 30 Adventures) You gain 16 Mysteriousness.
Warm Belly extends the Fishy effect from 20 to 30.
You eat the slick nigiri. The fish mixes with the warm sake in your belly. Satisfying! You gain 6 Adventures. You acquire an effect: Fishy (duration: 30 Adventures) You gain 15 Sarcasm.
After filling the rest of my stomach, I determined each sushi to be 2 fullness. --Prestige 04:22, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- Do you have the item ids/descids for the nigiri?--Toffile 04:27, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- They don't exist as items. They're just eaten immediately. --Prestige 04:31, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, indeed they do, with descids of -55, -56 and -57. However, attempting to view their descriptions gives "Invalid description ID." --Prestige 06:02, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Ascension
Does anyone know if this lasts between ascensions? Or do you have to spend the 100 sand dollars every ascension? --The iron troll 04:18, 19 August 2012 (CEST)
- I would also like to know this — Cool12309 (talk) 01:15, 4 December 2012 (CET)
- Is it marked as a quest item?--Toffile 01:17, 4 December 2012 (CET)
- not quest just not traded or discarded. --Evilkolbot 01:36, 4 December 2012 (CET)

- Answers! This used to be a buy-once, use forever item (when it cost 300 sand dollars). And by "buy-once" I mean only once, Big Brother had only one in stock. Then when cooking changed, see date on page, the price went down to 100 sand dollars and it became buy-as-many-as-you-want. But it also became a lost-at-ascension-time kitchen upgrade. So when you use the item, you get a sushi cooking ability that lasts until ascension. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 01:51, 4 December 2012 (CET)
