the 'scorch' needs the text you get when you click on it. "There's a small burned patch of ground here, smelling of used-up magical energy. You know that feeling you get from chewing on tinfoil? That's what it smells like." I don't know how to make new pages, I suck. --Devdogg 11:00, 24 January 2007 (CST)

When does that scorch mark show up? It isn't on my map. Maybe it's related to a quest, possibly the new guild quest? --LegendaryBard 12:49, 24 January 2007 (CST)

The scorch shows up after receiving the "A Grave Situation" adventure - "As you're leaving, you notice the smell of smoke wafting toward you from the south."--Dorf 15:05, 24 January 2007 (CST)

I can confirm the appearance of the text here. Does anyone know if it does anything? I suspect it will in the future, maybe something about the demons from hey deze coming after you.--Jimmyfisher 16:08, 24 January 2007 (CST)

  • If you're level 4 or 5, that's where the Temporal Rift now appears. —Yendor 18:49, 24 January 2007 (CST)
  • Okay, what is the trigger for opening the rift? It was at level 4 and 5 automatically. Is it now after the guild quest is completed or at level 5. I hit both at the same time, so I'm not sure. It wasclosed to me at level 4.--Krazedkris 10:50, 25 January 2007 (CST)

Strange goings on below the cemetary

Ok, with one of my multis, instead of getting the scorch mark, i got a bright light appearing below the cemetary. The text upon clicking on it is:

How odd. There's a small, bright light here, hovering a few feet off the ground. You touch it, warily, but other than a tingly sensation in your hand, nothing happens. It almost seems like it was meant to be some kind of dimensional gate, but apparently whatever magic was used to create it didn't work properly.

Also, I finished the quest, am at level 5, and the temporal rift still hasn't opened. --Starwed 12:14, 25 January 2007 (CST)

Ah, of course, this multi hasn't ascended, and thus doesn't get to go through the temporal rift. --Starwed 12:36, 25 January 2007 (CST)

On a side note - can anyone confirm/deny that the location of the rift has changed in the nearby past? I noticed that the Wiki page hasn't been adjusted, and didn't know if it changed, or if its something to remind the DevTeam to do. --Grimdel 15:16, 25 January 2007 (PST)

  • Not yet. Jick said on radio that he meant to change the location in the past too, but-- er, forgot? Was too busy? Well, whatever. It'll happen sooner or later, but when I checked it about 12 hours ago, it was still in the old position. --Andemon 17:24, 27 January 2007 (CST)

missing tiles: ok this might just be me... but does anyone else have all teh squares in the plains that use the image plains4 as missing images?(these locations are 1 east of the kobb, and where the krypt and beanstalk will be)All my multis are having this prollem on all servers--CSDragon 20:43, 11 April 2007 (CDT)

Going down a level

If you reach level 6 and then eat evil food to lower your mainstat so that you lose a level, that makes the temporal rift reappear. I guess it would've been more surprising if it didn't but since no one else had mentioned it, I was thinking what if no one had tried it?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Seko (talkcontribs) on 09:56, 8 October 2008

  1. sign your posts with two hyphens and four tildes like this --~~~~
  2. it's easier to do this with knob potions if you're not a myst class. this is a particularly useful trick for unlucky completists. since everything level-dependent would work this way, though, should the "you can do this again if you lower your level somehow" be added everywhere it's needed? i'd say the "of levels such and such" is enough of a hint. --Evilkolbot 11:18, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

  • this page needs a "on june 13, 2012..." entry which i'm too busy to do right now. sorry. --Evilkolbot 13:32, 13 June 2012 (CEST)

Plains Revamp (Post Brushfires)

I wish it was a table or an imagemap like every other location in kol, but it's not. It's a bunch of randomly floating images over another image. Were they intentionally trying to make it hard to wiki-ify? I converted much of it, though it doesn't work :'( --JRSiebz (|§|) 06:54, 4 July 2012 (CEST)

  • It turns out, the wiki needs the px in 325px, but kol doesn't :-P And there are also some new images for old locations, many of them no longer 100x100 but irregularly sized. Wonderful. That'll keep info-boxes and pages inconsistent, like we like 'em >:| --JRSiebz (|§|) 07:08, 4 July 2012 (CEST)
  • I just saw the temporal gash location now has "Some Curious Blinking Lights" if you are less than level 4 but have returned Fernswarthy's key to the guild. If someone emails me I'll send them the image. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Djve (talkcontribs) on 15:36, 24 July 2012
