Your eyes are drawn to a pattern of odd glyphs, writ large, green, and luminescent on the cellar wall.

On the floor in front of the glyphs sits an ornate stone pedestal, atop which rests a copper goblet. The goblet smells faintly of wine, and upon closer examination, you notice what appears to be a drain pipe leading down the goblet's stem and into the pedestal. How curious.

Perhaps you should pour some wine into it and see what happens?

Selecting the wine

You should have Lord Spookyraven's spectacles in your inventory and view the descriptions of your bottles of wine. Each wine will have a glyph at the bottom of its description.

There are 6 different bottles (dusty bottle of Marsala, dusty bottle of Merlot, dusty bottle of Muscat, dusty bottle of Pinot Noir, dusty bottle of Port, and dusty bottle of Zinfandel) and 6 different glyphs:

To determine the order of the wine to pour, look at the three glyphs that are around the center big glyph. Each of these corresponds to a wine and you need to pour three wines into the drain pipe in the order corresponding to the glyphs on the top, lower left, and then lower right.

  • If you pour the wrong wine or in the wrong order:
As you pour the wine into the goblet, you hear a loud gurgling followed by a grinding of gears. You lean over for a closer look, and a cloud of choking green smoke suddenly blows into your face from the goblet's drain.
You don't feel so good.

Oh, man. You double over in pain.
HPYou lose all hit points.
  • Pour the bottle that matches the top glyph:
You pour the wine into the goblet and it drains down the stem. There is a grinding of gears from within the pedestal, and the topmost glyph on the wall begins to glow more brightly.
  • Then pour the bottle that matches the bottom left glyph:
You pour the wine into the goblet and it drains down the stem. There is a grinding of gears from within the pedestal, and the leftmost glyph on the wall begins to glow more brightly.
  • Then pour the bottle that matches the bottom right glyph (opens up access to the Summoning Chamber):
You pour the wine into the goblet and it drains down the stem. There is a grinding of gears from within the pedestal, and a section of the cellar's back wall slides aside to reveal a hidden passage. Eureka!

Occurs at Spookyraven Manor Wine Cellar.

Notes

  • Glyphs are randomized for each character and after you ascend.
  • If available, a soul monocle can be used as a substitute for Lord Spookyraven's spectacles.
  • If wines are poured in the wrong order, the assignment of glyphs to bottles may reset. In other words, if the snake glyph was assigned to Port before you erroneously poured, it might be reassigned to Muscat after. You should re-check all your glyphs if you made a pouring mistake, as you may now need three different wines than you did before.
