Big Boat page says in the notes: "The shore trip counter is the only counter that is reset after ascension so this trophy must be obtained in a single run."
However like the Trophy page says, other counters are rest as well such as Gourdcore, Gadget Inspector, Familiar weight trophies etc.

I can't find any confirmation of "Big Boat" as poker slang. There's also nothing connection poker to the trophy, or the actions needed to make the trophy.--Foggy 13:39, 29 June 2006 (CDT)
weird. i only have 999 trips so far. so anxious, i tried to go to the trophy hut and there it was. my Big Boat trophy, with only 999 trips. hmmmn... --jeremypv 00:45, 8 July 2006 (CDT)
It is the same with Small Boat, I think. I knew that exactly 1000 vacations wasn't neccesary, so I went up to 990 and check the Trophy Hut after every travel. You can get this trophy as early as 996 Vacations. Don't know, but there are four rewards, maybe they don't update the number of vacations you have had during one of those vacations..? Maybe the 996 is because it is assumed that, if you have Ascended more than once, you had to take at least 5 trips...? --Glukthar 07:38, 22 August 2007 (CDT)
- Nah. The reason used to be because to ensure that wouldn't keep getting the X-trips taken reward, it automatically gave you another trip. As there are 4 rewards, that's 4 hidden "trips" that you don't have to take. I'm not sure if this still holds true though.--MaskedLihc 11:11, 22 August 2007 (CDT)
- FWIW, the Big Boat with 996 trips bug is fixed now. I just checked after every trip between 990 and 1000 with no early appearance in the shop. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 17:50, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
