Talk:Crazy hobo notebook

When I was testing this yesterday in the Haunted Wine Cellar and Laundry Room, I saw damage results of just 6-7 (except on spooky-aligned monsters, of course.) Today, I was seeing 7-8 instead in those rooms (after using the notebook again in them); I used it in the Palindome, an area I had not used the notebook in yesterday, and it was also 7-8 there, so it's not something like "every time it's used in a room, it's damage in that room goes up by 1." Added a NeedsSpading, so someone can figure out what determines the damage done. --Terion (talk) 05:46, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

I'm guessing it's moon-based...I'm getting 8-10 in the Wine Cellar today.-Foggy (talk) 17:34, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

  • That seems to rule out moon-based (or at least just-moon-based) as I'm seeing 7-8 today, and not 8-10, so it seems there's something character-based. FWIW, I'm level 12 now, not sure what level I was yesterday when I was getting the 6-7. --Terion (talk) 21:51, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
    • Foggy needs to verify whether he has the Deft Hands skill. --Greycat (talk) 15:17, 25 July 2014 (UTC)
    • I'm guessing the reduced damage was a result of ML-based elemental resistance. —Yendor (talk) 05:55, 8 February 2016 (UTC)

Interesting factoid: I used a notebook against The Man in the frat boy war house, and later on saw the effect also occur against the NS Tower monsters and at the top of the lair against NS forms 1 and 2 and the Avatar of Jarlsberg. I didn't notice if there was some kind of message against the shadow; it didn't take any damage, according to the Mafia log. --Terion (talk) 02:22, 9 June 2014 (UTC)

  • Following up, I used a notebook against a tower monster, and the effect showed up against Shub-Jigguwatt. I lost badly because of this.--digitrev (talk) 11:09, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
