Talk:Jackass Plumber

Keep an eye on this, its either a red herring or a way of getting a new hot dog.--Tombot (talk) 23:21, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
Any ideas on the mechanics behind if you get it or not? Somebody1234 (talk) 08:32, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
- I would suspect a 70,000 sided dice and rolling 1 gets you the defective token. I came up with that number by suspecting 5,000 players log in and check this every day and after roughly 14 days there is an increased chance that one of them gets lucky. Disclaimer: This is in no way a scientific approach and all I've used is my gut feeling and the interval of falling mall prices for the token. Your made-up numbers are as good as mine. --Yatsufusa (talk) 09:47, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
- 19 tokens have been sold in the mall since the item rolled. I know of eight that have been used without ever entering the mall, five put into display cases, and mine which sits in my inventory. I would estimate, accounting for reselling, roughly 35 tokens total since the hot dog stand rolled -- 104 days since Jackass Plumber was noticed. My guess would be that one is generated for every three days of players clicking on the game machine.--Cannonfire40 (talk) 04:22, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
- One thing I have to add is that I got my mall-related data from the Marketplace mall-tracking application that's linked here on the wiki and I'm guessing Cannonfire40 takes his numbers from there as well. When I closely check those numbers they are almost always off. For example: Items that have been in the mall for 100 meat for days and days get displayed as a constant 101 there. Radio button candy always just went expensive after a long period of being sold heavily under price – which I happen to know didn't happen. "Only believe in statistics that you've doctored yourself..." – Still this is better than basing your ideas entirely on guesswork, but it will be an approximation at best. --Yatsufusa (talk) 08:40, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
- Your point about Radio button candy looking like it's been undervalued is the result of a single sale far below market followed by a long period of none being sold. The value will continue to show the most recent median price until a new sale is made. I can't find any examples of the 101 meat thing you're talking about - I checked a few 100 meat items and their prices were all listed as 100 meat - but I suspect if you gave me the examples I could tell you why they were listed as such. The coldfront data is extremely reliable, but liable to misinterpretation like any statistics. Something to note about the 19 transactions for the tokens is that it's quite possible a single token could be transacted more than once. Cannonfire's guesstimate still sounds quite reasonable though.--Darkcodelagsniper (talk) 12:34, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
- It seems I have fallen victim to a misconception: I always assumed what that tool showed me was the price of an item for the shown period – not the last price an item has last sold for... While I'm able to see why players might be interested in that as well, it simply wasn't what I expected. For completions sake: I looked around and found white chocolate chips as a mediocre example (hundreds of units in the mall for 100, price in the Marketplace was 101). I have just bought a few for 100 to see how/when/if the graph will change. ... If I buy one for a million, does that mean the Marketplace will show them for that price? --Yatsufusa (talk) 13:36, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
- It shows the median price of all transactions over a 30 minute period, so if you buy one for a million and noone else buys any white chocolate chips in that 30 minute period, then it should indeed display the current price of white chocolate chips as 1 million. --Darkcodelagsniper (talk) 16:00, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

New Image Text?
Whoa... whoa... whoa. Lois, this is not my Star Wars glass. Also, the text over the image for Jackass Plumber used to say "OUT OF ORDER", now it says "(5 Adv, 1 Token)" like the rest of them. Is this new? --Johnny Treehugger (talk) 01:06, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
Click-Nope
- I've been religiously click-noping for seven-plus years now. Still haven't got a second. Anyone? --Evilkolbot (talk) 20:20, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
