*This method works much better - I wish I'd thought of it earlier. I suppose we should probably update the existing location metadata pages to add the default parameter to the end, just so this template can be used to fetch individual fields from them. It'll probably take 20 minutes or so to throw together a script for my bot once I get home tonight. --{{User:Quietust/sig}} 13:18, 18 April 2007 (CDT)

I got this working, but it required placing a single dummy parameter in the monster template itself (This is actually something I'd thought about doing anyway), and using the #switch function as the format. Having two dummy fields in the Data template doesn't work right with the switch template, as it seems to only look at the last field to be the default.

I've tried using the {{!}} for template-pipes trick before, but it never seems to work the way I want it to.  :( This way at least functions, but if it's possible to get the other way to work I'd appreciate knowing how. :) --Starwed 13:08, 18 April 2007 (CDT)
