I have a question for you though, are you sure that you recieved the britches without ascending? Are you sure you didn't get the bandana or Batskin belt instead? Also, never say "spoiler warning" on this site. This place used to have the tagline of "spoilertastic"--UglyPanda

I thought i got the britches, but it might just have been the belt... I can't remember.
